Really enjoyed our stay at the cottage, we were made welcome by Dermot and he was very warm and friendly. The stove was lit on arrival with plenty of turf to keep it going. It was nice to have the sheep and lambs for company and we seen all of the animals before we left. Genie the goat was my favourite I would have taken her home!
Views were spectacular we got a bit of sun and even with the mist in the mornings it was lovely.
Wrap up warm and bring your woolen socks especially if going for a hike, we did the route at lough Easkey which is 2 hours and there are some information leaflets available in the cottage with nearby walks which was great!
We popped over to Dromore West on the Friday night for some food and took a spin to Easkey, we then ventured into Tobercurry for some provisions for a picnic which is a short drive.
The cottage is in a great location, rural with no WiFi which was the best thing to switch off and relax. The little bottle of milk in the fridge was a nice touch as we had a cup of tea when we arrived.
Thank you to Dermot who gave us a tour on checkout as we met all the animals and Hunter the sheep dog. Looking forward to returning and staying in the hideaway which is almost complete.
Would really recommend staying here it has all you need for a peaceful retreat.
